Smiling Moon Alpacas started in 2009 with two huacaya fiber geldings. It wasn’t long before we knew that more alpacas needed to come and live on the farm. We are a small farm, on 33 acres in the hills of rural Allegany County in Friendship, New York . Our first ventures into showing resulted in a 2nd place at the Northeast Alpaca Expo in the Spring of 2010 with a grey juvenile and again in 2011 with a 2nd of 12 for a brown juvenile. We were “hooked” and our ventures into the show ring have continued with multiple ribbons since. We are constantly striving to improve our herd, and we are seeing the results of our efforts!

Smiling Moon Alpacas is a family business, with everyone pitching in where needed. We have a small store called Smiling Moon Everything Alpaca, that is located on the farm. Visitors are always welcome! Just call to make arrangements.
